NOVEMBER 29, 2020
MSMS Sailors,
I hope that you all had an amazing Thanksgiving and that you were able to take a few moments to recognize the things you have in your life to be grateful for.
Beginning tomorrow, Monday, November 30, we will move into our MSMS Remote Learning Plan. I know and am confident in the preparation that your CREW leaders have done, the structure that has already been established, and the focus that each of you have to make the most of this experience. While it will not be "normal", very few things have been this year, I know that you all will give your best effort, be committed to engaging content, and will reach out to your teachers if you are struggling.

UPDATES & REMINDERS
- ATTENDANCE || You will have TWO times each day that attendance will be taken. Every morning at 7:30am and every afternoon at 12:45pm. ***Wednesday will ONLY have the 12:45pm attendance.
- GOOGLE MEET EXPECTATIONS || When you attend meetings, you are expected to be ready to learn and engage. We would expect that you are not in your pajamas, not covered up in bed, and not eating during meetings. Our recommendation is that you have a designated learning space, that you get ready for the day (just like normal), and that you take ownership of your learning and engagement.
- ENGAGE || You will have to engage in the learning, access the content, watch the videos, do the assignments, and use support hours if needed. This is the only way that you will learn and be successful during remote learning. This experience will be more like what you have been doing so far this year (either in house or virtually), not like what last Spring was. Expectations are MUCH HIGHER, both in attendance and academics. Finish Trimester 1 and begin Trimester 2 STRONG!
- ADMINISTRATORS || If you you need to connect with Mr. Ammeraal, Mr. Burrel, or Mr. Nummerdor, know that we will be in the office and checking our email/phone.
- CONNECT WITH YOUR COUNSELOR || Here is the link that will give you access to counselors, see the updated wellness check that will be sent to you, and provide any support you might need.

Struggling to find a routine? check out one of these options?
Routine can be an anchor. No matter what’s going on in our day, knowing that we will be having our evening meal around 6 pm, and going to bed around 10 pm, can be a real comfort. The certainty of our routine can help us to manage the uncertainty that life can throw up. Coping with unpredictable periods of time can feel more doable when we have a little structure in place to look to.
